Cinematographer, Director & Editor
I’m based in Portland, Oregon and have been creating short form documentary and commercial videos for the last 27 years. My experience has taken me all over the world encountering a variety of landscapes, cultures and adventures. I enjoy a DP role and operating camera, often both at the same time. I’m comfortable in a studio or outside in harsh weather.
I picked up a camera in 1993 and spent 13 years in the field making snowboard and action sports videos. I was lucky to work five amazing years at Standard Films with Mike Hatchett and then went on to form Robot Food. My roles included producer, cinematographer and editor. Working with top athletes we traveled all over the world and shot thousands of feet of 16mm film. It’s been an incredible journey.
Experience
Director of Photography
I have experience with Alexa, Canon, Sony, Black Magic and RED cameras and I own a couple of these. I can also scale my production capability to hire a larger crew or use specialty equipment to get whatever footage you need.
Editing and post production
I typically edit my own material in Adobe and color with Davinci. I have experience with broadcast commercial spots and short form documentaries. I work fast using the most current digital workflow, and understand the importance of deadline-driven work. My output includes color correction, audio sweetening, and incorporating supplied assets such as music, stock footage, motion graphics and titles.
